Amazing work by the NSS unit of GECT!
With quite a huge number of engineering colleges in the country , there is a lopsided increase in the concentration of students from this field over any other academic discipline . But as technocrats endowed with skills to change the world the way we want it , be it in small ways or large ways , making a sound impact in the livelihoods of the people ; are we doing our best to the society ? To arouse such thought in the minds of budding engineers , Viviktha'15 was flagged off with a great beginning . A beginning in the form of a national Seminar on "Rural Development" . The Seminar was spearheaded by Dr. Rupali Khanolkhar , senior faculty of IITB . The seminar was focussed on how and what engineers could do to change the lives of the people around them through technological interventions.
Unquestionably and without any doubt , Agriculture remains the largest supporter of livelihood in Rural India . But with Urbanisation growing its roots in every direction possible , that day is soon to come when all these would just become tales of the past ! Well , here is a team in GECT who spend their evenings in reviving the practise of cultivation in a small way . Haritha Vidya 2015 supported by the NSS Chapter of GECT is on its way to the high road . Let's ardently hope that their seeds of hardwork and dedication reap tremendous results !
